Lash Extensions FAQ
-What are lash extensions?
Lash extensions instantly give you longer, fuller, darker, more precise looking lashes. One by one, perfectly curved individual synthetic lash strands are attached, root to tip, to each of your natural lashes and not to your eye lid. They feel virtually weightless. Even up close, it is difficult to tell that they aren't your natural lashes. There is no need to wear mascara; your lashes are dark, thick, and separated without clumps and the hassle of mascara.
-How long do they last?
To keep your lashes full and abundant looking, we recommend getting Touch-ups every 3 to 4 weeks. Your extensions will shed with your natural eyelashes cycle. During touch-ups, new extensions are applied to the new lash growth to replace any lashes that may have shed. Natural eyelashes grow in and shed in a 60-90 day cycle, and we shed approximately 1 to 2 lash per day, per eye. Look great with your lashes day and night- shower, swim, play all while having voluminous, smudge proof lashes.
-Are they safe?
Yes, absolutely! The process is a comfortable, relaxing experience. In fact, most clients are so comfortable they fall asleep. My cutting edge methods and products ensure our clients safety. The adhesive is made from the same ingredients used in surgical sutures and is formulated specifically for lash extensions. I use only formaldehyde-free products.
-What is the maintenance like?
Some special care for your lashes is needed, over all maintenance is low. Most important- come in once a month to have your lashes touched up. Depending on the rate your lashes grow, some clients will need to come in anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. Keep your lashes clean and free of creams, oils, and don't rub your eyes.
-Can lash extensions damage my lashes?
A qualified, experienced professional should not damage your lashes.
-How long does it take?
Depending on the number of lashes being applied, it generally takes between 90 to 150 minutes to apply a full set of Lashes. Touch-ups can be done in 60-120 minutes.
-How do I care for my eyelash extensions?
Care must be taken not to rub or scratch your eyes. Any creams, eye-makeup removers, lotions or cleansers containing glycols and carbonates can loosen the bond of eyelash extensions. You will want to make sure that you use an oil-free makeup remover to remove eye makeup. Care must be taken to apply eye cream sparingly, with avoidance of the lash-line area.
-Can I add mascara to my eyelash extensions?
A water-based mascara can be worn. However, constant use of mascara may shorten the life span of your lash extensions. WATERPROOF MASCARA IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE, AS IT WILL DISSOLVE THE BOND WITH THE LASHES.
-How should i prepare for my eyelash appoitnment?
Arrive with no makeup or at least no mascara, and do not perm or curl your eyelashes before your appointment.
